Social Networks
We have studied the structure of a musical collaboration social network using the tools of network science
Using data from Billboard and Spotify, we construct a collaborative success-based network and apply tools of network science to study its structure.
By means of topological metrics, we define four categories of collaboration profiles, each with two levels of subcategories. The classes are defined according to the specific social metrics' features.
Applying a clustering algorithm, we identify three well-defined communities with distinct collaboration patterns and notable discrepancies in levels of musical success.
Then, we conduct a statistical correlation analysis to evaluate the association between collaboration profiles and the artist's success.
